This 6 month online course is brought to you via Zoom, all classes are recorded and placed on our Learner Management System for you to be able to watch at your leisure.
You will need to video yourself training the various exercises, your cell phone is probably the best option – ask a friend for help.
What the student will learn
- Students will learn some of the science of dog training and how to teach a dog to be able to perform various behaviours like ‘Sit’, ‘Lie Down’ , Walk on a loose lead to name a few. This course will teach students how to teach these exercises to their clients dogs.

- Unit 1

- Learning theory and commonly used terminology.
- Teach ‘Sit” and “Lie Down”.
- Unit 2

- Reinforcement schedules.
- Teaching a dog to come when called.
- Unit 3

- Timing of rewards.
- How to teach loose lead walking, even for strong pullers.
- Unit 4

- Teach ‘Stay’ and ‘Wait’ and explanation of the difference between these 2 behaviours.
- How to proof a behaviour.
- Unit 5

- Teach ‘Drop it’ and ‘Leave’.
- Adding distraction.
- Unit 6

- Teach ‘Fetch’ using chaining of behaviours.
