Tarryn Roux

DipCABT (COAPE) OCN, CABTi Practitioner Member

Tarryn Roux is a passionate advocate for animal welfare, with a particular focus on rural communities in Africa. With over 13 years of experience in animal behaviour, training, and welfare, she has dedicated her career to improving the lives of both companion animals and the people who care for them.
Her journey began at MAPS, a local animal shelter in Mozambique, where she worked hands-on with abused and neglected animals. In 2010, she qualified as a ThinkingPets Puppy School Instructor and went on to complete her COAPE Diploma in Animal Behaviour in 2013.
As head of the Blantyre S.P.C.A. in Malawi, Tarryn pioneered innovative welfare programs, including enrichment strategies and a “train-to-adopt” initiative, which greatly improved adoption outcomes. She later served as Country Manager for Mission Rabies in Malawi, playing a key role in national rabies eradication efforts.
Since 2018, Tarryn has been part of COAPE International, where she manages social media and oversees the Learning Management System (LMS).
Building on her experience, she went on to establish her own non-profit organisation, Furever Friends Foundation, which focuses on sustainable, community-driven animal welfare solutions.
Tarryn’s work reflects her deep commitment to creating long-term change in animal welfare through education, innovation, and compassion.
